Bosch House Heidehof, 2002-2005
also called: " Building for further education"
Contractor: Harms & Partner
Client: Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart
Scope: Site Supervision
Awarded with the Hugo-Häring-Prize 2006
Awarded with Gute Bauten 2005 Baden-Württemberg
The Robert Bosch GmbH, an electronics and automotive company from Stuttgart, decided to build an educational building for it’s worldwide acting executives.
Adjacent to the old Bosch Villa, where it all is believed to have started.
The building shall further serve for representation, receptions and public events.
Additionally the garden floor contains offices for the Robert Bosch Foundation, a charity organisation which holds 92% of the company.
So the educated executives can get in touch with the projects the profit they gain is fueling.
Design and planning came from Prof. Peter Kulka, who won the international competition held in the beginning.
Tendering, placing and site supervision was done by Harms & Partner, who I worked for.
I was doing site supervision from the beginning till the end.
Which was challenging not only because of the highest quality standards coming through the purpose of the building, but also the hostile neighborhood which filed 340 lawsuits, trying to stop the project.
Nevertheless, it was a success.
