Project: ‘Flower Power’ - exhitbition greenhouse

In a group of five people we did our intermediate project. This is after the 4th semester, and it is the final project to get the pre-diploma, which gives the licence to build some projects up to a limited size. Something like a lightweight bachelor before the bachelor/master system was introduced in german universities.
The goal was to design an exhibition greenhouse on a given location.
Basically it is a big volume, with serving facilities and a public walkway included.
We proposed a special grid shell, with a cut for the entry-opening and a big opening to the landscape on the back.
These are additionally used for natural ventilation.
For lightness we use air-cushions as cover material, and for better light transmission glass-tubes as main bearing elements.

The project was done together with: Enkhtaivan Baljinnyam, Karolin Do, Christiane Reuther and Hee-Jun Sim. With Hans-Georg Baum as mentor.
